In 2015 there were an estimate 27.0 million slaves, more than during the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
Between 244,000 and 325,000 under 18 years of age are considered at risk for sexual exploitation. Between 14,500 and 17,500 are traffic into the United States each year.
80% of those traffic in the United States are females, 28.1% are males, 0.9% are transgender, and 50% are children, (those under 18 years of age).

Human trafficking is related to arms trade, drug selling, gang rings and other Federal and State crimes.
About ½ of 450,000 runaways, teenage girls, will end up in forced prostitution or sex slavery within 48 hours. The most sought-after girls are between 12 and 15 years of age.
